Claudine Hutchins Hill
Claudine Hutchins Hill, 94, passed away, Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Memorial University Medical Center. She was born January 1, 1919 in Savannah to Wayland Dewey and Clara Clark Hutchins. She was a longtime member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Claudine was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and Armstrong Junior College. She later attended Tulane University for Graduate studies. She worked in St. Augustine, Florida for the School for the Deaf and Blind. She also worked in Augusta, GA for the Richmond County Child Placement Office, and was a case worker for family services. In Savannah she worked for the Department of Human Resources as a Social Worker.
Claudine is survived by her husband of 62 years, James J. Hill, Jr., of Savannah, her three daughters, Katharine Ruse, of Lilburn, GA, Helen Waters, of Savannah, and Mary Anne Hill, of Savannah, and one son, James W. Hill, of Springfield, Virginia. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Caroline Ruse, of Albany, GA, Thomas Waters, of Savannah, and Andrew Ruse, of Lilburn, GA, her sister, Ann Ernst, of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with the Reverend Ben Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Wesley Glen Ministries, 3711 Agape Village Road, Macon, GA 31210.
